UpWhiten Editorial Policy: Every Study Checked on PubMed

A whitening number is only as good as the check behind it. One audit bought whitening gels sold online, and every listing had an incomplete or missing ingredient list.[2] One delivered sample held no active ingredient at all.[2]

That is guesswork whitening, and these pages are written against it. Here, every study number has a source you can open, and every studio number has a record behind it.

What does every UpWhiten page argue?

Every page makes one case. Professional in-studio whitening, measured before and after, beats guessing at home. We say so on the first screen, and the research is chosen to make that case well.

The pages are built the way our videos are built. One question, the answer first, the studies that answer it, then what the studio’s own records show.

The old way runs on strips and a plastic tab held up to your tooth. A 2005 trial timed each method to the same six-grade change.[1] Whitening strips needed nearly 32 treatment cycles to get there.[1] The in-office group needed just over three shorter cycles.[1]

A tab read by eye is the second guess. A systematic review of shade matching for dental restorations found instrument readings significantly more accurate than matching by eye.[3] So the studio reads every shade on an instrument, before and after. That is Predictive Whitening™.

How is the research checked before a page uses it?

Pages rebuilt since 28 October 2026 are written from one research pack. Every claim in that pack was checked against its source before writing began.

The other claims come from Ottawa dentist and veneer price pages, Health Canada, the Canadian Dental Care Plan and published papers on looks and pay. Each was saved on the day it was checked. A claim that does not match its source word for word never enters the pack.

Every cited study on every page is checked each time the site builds. A script reads the source’s PubMed record and looks for one phrase copied out of its abstract. A missing phrase fails the build, and the page does not go live.

That check shows the words exist. The fact audit and the clinical review pass check that the page reads them right.

How are studio facts kept apart from study numbers?

Studio facts come from the owners, never from a trial. Each one is registered word for word in an evidence file with its source and date, and a page prints only that exact sentence.

How dollar figures and studio figures are checked

Every dollar figure on these pages is someone else's posted price, such as a dentist's or a veneer provider's. Each one points to a dated file holding the page address, the capture date and the quoted price. The build fails any figure the quote does not contain.

Studio figures, such as how far clients’ readings moved, are computed on the studio’s own computer from studio records. No client record leaves it, and a published download carries shares and medians only.

Who writes and who reviews each page?

What has to pass before a page ships?

The judges are independent and blind. They score the page against the pages that already rank for its question, without knowing which one is ours. A health sentence that changes after review goes back for a clinical re-check before the page ships.

Whose words are quoted?

A quote with a name on it comes word for word from a public Google review or a published studio testimonial. It is signed with a first name and last initial. Read the UpWhiten reviews to see them in full.

How do I report a mistake?

Call the studio or use the contact details in the footer, and name the page and the sentence. The author answers, and a health sentence goes back through the clinical review pass. If the record backs the sentence, we send you the record. If it does not, we fix it, and the page shows a new updated date.
