Every other whitening menu sells you a session, then sells you the next one. UpWhiten sells one whitening package. The Ideal Shade Package runs sessions until your reading reaches your ideal shade or your genetic limit, at no extra cost.

A dentist charges for the session in front of you, and the risk of needing more is yours. Whitening strips charge you again with every box, for years.

A box of strips cannot tell you what shade you started at, so it cannot tell you when you are done. Predictive Whitening™ is how UpWhiten whitens. NanoChroma™ reads your starting shade in the chair, before any gel is opened, and reads the same teeth again at the end.

Which whitening package does UpWhiten offer?

UpWhiten offers one whitening package, the Ideal Shade Package, and it holds as many sessions as your teeth need. There are no tiers to weigh against each other. The gel, the gum barrier, the sensitivity protocol and the two readings are identical every visit, because there is one way this studio whitens.

“I couldn’t believe that she had it done, and and it wasn’t that expensive.” — Dagmar P.

Most people price whitening from a friend’s smile across a table. Yours starts with a reading. On the studio’s own records to 12 September 2026, seven in ten buyers decided in the chair, on the day they saw their reading.

What is inside the Ideal Shade Package?

Inside the Ideal Shade Package is one sequence, and every session runs all of it. A NanoChroma™ reading, a plan set against it, GumGuard, PolarGuard, UltraWhite rounds of about twenty minutes, then the reading again.

NanoChroma™ goes first. It reads the colour of your teeth on an instrument before any gel is opened, and the specialist writes that number down. A meta-analysis of six in vivo studies of shade selection found spectrophotometers more accurate than the eye.[4]

Then the plan. The specialist sets your target shade and your rounds against that reading, each round about twenty minutes of professional-strength gel.

GumGuard goes on your gums before the first round, so the gel meets enamel and nothing else.

PolarGuard runs before and after, and we stop at the first zing. In a trial of 75 people, the in-office technique had the lowest tooth sensitivity of three.[7]

Last, NanoChroma™ reads the same teeth again, and both numbers go on your record.

A dentist’s chair session opens the course. The tray you take home is the real product, and their own guideline puts it at about eight hours a night for about fourteen nights.[9]

The table sets the Ideal Shade Package beside the four routes you are pricing it against, on how many times each asks you to pay.

One thing unlimited does not cover, and you should hear it before you book. The package works on natural tooth. A crown, a veneer or a bonded front keeps the colour it was made in, and more sessions will not change that. Your first reading shows the specialist which teeth those are.

How do you choose a whitening package?

You do not choose between whitening packages at UpWhiten, because there is one. You choose a target shade, and the specialist sets it against your first NanoChroma™ reading, with you in the chair.

Your ideal shade is the brightest shade that still reads as yours. The whites of your eyes are the ceiling nature set, and a tooth brighter than that reads as fake.

“I don’t want them to look like you know, like, those big veneers, like, they’re, like, white.” — Prince G.

The specialist draws your target under that ceiling, on your face rather than on a menu.

One trial ran in-office sessions until participants were satisfied. Twelve of thirty were done after four sessions, and ten needed five.[2]

A price per session hands that range to you. One number for the whole package keeps it here.

How does paying for the Ideal Shade Package work?

You pay once for the Ideal Shade Package, and the number arrives after the reading, never before it. Monthly payment plans turn that one number into a monthly amount.

The free one-minute Smile Assessment comes first. Then the Complimentary Shade Consultation, about forty-five minutes. You leave with your first NanoChroma™ reading in your hand, whether or not you book anything.

A dentist’s route runs the other way. You pay for the exam first, and the quote comes out of the exam. Here the reading comes first, and the reading is free.

On the same records, the studio is open Monday to Saturday, nine to eight, and your consult can become your treatment the same day. If you want that day, start with booking a whitening visit at the Ottawa studio.

When does the Ideal Shade Package end?

The Ideal Shade Package ends at your ideal shade or at your genetic limit, and a reading tells you which one you reached. Your genetic limit is the point where the colour left is the tooth’s own dentine rather than stain. You know you are there because the readings stop moving between sessions.

The NanoChroma™ scale runs thirty-eight steps, from S40, the most yellow, to S2, the whitest, and it is possible to move all thirty-eight. Where you stop inside those steps is your genetic limit, and nobody names it before the first reading.

The trials find the same plateau. One study gave 40 adults up to six in-office sessions and measured after each one. On shade-guide measurement, colour reached its median stopping point at the second or third session.[3]

With strips you never find that plateau. You buy another box, and the only instrument in the story is your bathroom mirror.

The blue marks are two readings on one client's record, twenty-eight steps apart.

Where this page stops, and which page carries on

This page stops at what is inside the Ideal Shade Package and how it ends. How teeth whitening cost is worked out belongs to the cost page, counted in evenings as well as money. One trial counted nearly thirty-two treatments for strips against just over three for the studio route.[1]

What happens at a whitening appointment, minute by minute sits on the what-to-expect page. Everything upstream of a package is in the whitening guide above this one.

Questions people ask us

I thought it was five something. Why is one package more than that?

That number came off somebody else's menu, where what you were buying was a session. Here you are buying a shade, and one number covers as many sessions as your teeth need. One trial ran in-office sessions until participants were satisfied, and twelve of thirty were done after four, ten after five.[2] A per-session price hands you that gap.

I'm still trying to save money for school right now.

Then take the free part now. The one-minute Smile Assessment costs nothing, the Complimentary Shade Consultation costs nothing, and you leave with your NanoChroma™ reading written down. Nothing is due until you book the Ideal Shade Package, and the package comes with monthly payment plans.

On the website, I thought it was free.

The reading is free. The whitening is not. You leave the Complimentary Shade Consultation with your NanoChroma™ number and no bill, and you hear one number for the whole Ideal Shade Package before anything is booked. Nobody here should have told you otherwise. If somebody did, hold us to this paragraph.

I'm afraid we have to keep coming back every year.

Colour does reload, and a page that said otherwise would be lying to you. One trial followed people for four and a half years after in-office bleaching, and 85% still wanted to whiten again.[6] The package gets you to your shade. Dozens of members keep their shade on the ForeverGlow membership after that.
